ARX Robotics expands Gereon fleet in Ukraine

Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) have proven to be an indispensable technology in military applications. Among the leading providers in this field is ARX Robotics. The company from Oberding in Upper Bavaria claims to be the largest Western supplier of UGVs in Ukraine. Recently, the manufacturer received an order for several hundred more GEREON systems to be delivered to Ukraine.
As part of a contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, ARX Robotics will deliver several hundred additional Gereon-type UGVs to Ukraine, as announced on the company’s website. This will increase the ARX fleet in Ukraine to five times the original delivery quantity. This expansion is likely made possible thanks to the strategic partnership with Deutz AG (as we reported).
Unmanned systems leverage advantages in combat operations
These automated systems can help mitigate risks and assist (injured) soldiers in the dangerous conditions of active combat and under enemy fire. For example, they can bridge interrupted supply lines or provide better situational awareness in urban warfare and difficult terrain. This helps avoid ambushes and optimally coordinate troop movements.
