Facilitating exchange. This is one of the central elements of Drone Days from 26-28 August. Just a few weeks passed from the spontaneous idea at ILA Berlin in the summer of 2024 to the first event. Now in its third year, the event at the Oldenburg-Hatten airfield and Bremen Airport has become a must-attend event for the northwestern German UAS community – and beyond. For the first time this year, the Netherlands is an official partner country.

While discussions in previous years focused on which technologies or regulatory aspects were still needed for commercial unmanned aviation to break through, most discussions now revolve around finally implementing existing technologies and concepts at an industrial scale. This task cannot be done alone. Hence, the importance of making contacts and building networks.

Differences and similarities

Bringing people together for this purpose is one of the central elements of Drone Days. Whether it’s stakeholders from manned and unmanned aviation who can exchange insights on differences and similarities in flight operations, potential business partners who might never have learned about each other without a chance meeting, or employees from companies and regulatory authorities engaging in constructive dialogue for better mutual understanding.

It is the relaxed, northern German ease that characterizes the interaction at Drone Days, while the professional level is exceptionally high
