BlueMark introduces db200; a Remote ID module for autopilot systems
Remote Identification or Remote ID for short is a wireless license plate to identify drones. This technology is mandatory in Japan, the USA and soon in the EU for most drones. Today, BlueMark launches its second generation Remote ID module for autopilot systems, such as ArduPilot.
The db200 module is powered by the open source ArduRemoteID firmware and has a certified FCC/CE radio module. In addition, the module has two DroneCAN ports and an UART (TELEM) port to connect to a autopilot system using JST-GH connectors. It is small, only 38 by 32 mm, and weighs just 4 grams. Technology
Remote ID is a technology that transmits key data -such as operator, target and current position- of a flying drone via Bluetooth or WiFi beacons. Consumers can receive this information through a smartphone app. In addition, this information is interesting for law enforcement, airports, but also for other drones to gain better insight into the local airspace. In Europe, Remote ID is defined in standard ASD-STAN prEN 4709-002.
ArduPilot
BlueMark has become official partner of ArduPilot and is active member of the open source ArduRemoteID firmware.
