From imposing volcanoes to picturesque crater lakes and fascinating geological formations, the Azores are the ideal location for impressive aerial photography.
The Azores are easily accessible from the UK. Azores Airlines (SATA) offers direct flights from London to Ponta Delgada on São Miguel. Alternatively, TAP Air Portugal also flies to São Miguel with a stopover in Lisbon. In summer, Ryanair and EasyJet offer seasonal connections to Ponta Delgada from airports such as Berlin, Düsseldorf and Munich. From São Miguel, the other islands, such as Faial, are easily accessible.

The island of Faial is particularly impressive for its dramatic volcanic landscapes. Ponta dos Capelinhos is a particularly fascinating place. The volcano erupted in 1957 and permanently changed the island’s landscape by creating new land. The black lava that flowed into the sea and the crater, which is still visible today, offer breathtaking views from the air.
