The next step

30 keynote speakers, 50 exhibiting companies, 700 professional visitors. The statistics from the first „DroneVation & Defence“ in Vienna provide an impression of the positive feedback the event, organized by the specialist magazine Militär Aktuell, received at its premiere. The next edition is set to take place on May 21, 2026, at the Wiener Werkshallen. This time, there will be a second stage, a more extensive program, and plenty of exciting guests.
„DroneVation & Defence“ is not primarily understood as a product showcase or a specialist conference. The goal is to create a platform for strategic exchange between users, industry, and research. Current technological developments, insights from real conflicts, as well as regulatory and operational challenges in dealing with unmanned systems, are the main focus. „Last year, we received overwhelmingly positive feedback. This makes us very confident to organize another high-caliber and content-rich event“, explains Matthias Heigl, Managing Director of Militär Aktuell.
In touch with the times
Recent developments in international conflicts demonstrate how drones and counter-UAS systems shape modern battlefields – from the tactical deployment of small UAS to strategic long-range systems. Consequently, the need for networking, innovation, and practical discussions is growing. „With DroneVation & Defence, we are absolutely in touch with the times. Interest in drones, unmanned systems, and particularly effective counter drone measures continues to grow at all levels – in the air, on the ground, and at sea“, emphasizes Jürgen Zacharias, Editor-in-Chief of the specialist magazine Militär Aktuell.
