Boston Dynamics unveils the product version of the humanoid robot Atlas

New options for industrial processes

For three decades now, Boston Dynamics has been manufacturing a range of industrial robots. However, the company became known to a wider public in the last couple of years. With its robot dog Spot, the manufacturer pioneered a completely new form of unmanned system. At the Consumer Electronics Show 2026 in Las Vegas, the US company unveiled the product version of Atlas, a humanoid robot capable of a wide range of tasks.

Atlas is a humanoid robot for commercial and industrial applications, capable of autonomously handling a wide range of tasks. These tasks range from material transport to automated order processing. Thanks to sophisticated AI algorithms, Atlas learns quickly and can adapt to dynamic environments. It can not only lift heavy loads and navigate hazardous or contaminated areas, but also requires minimal human intervention. When its battery is low, it autonomously navigates to a charging station, replaces the battery, and resumes its work immediately.

„Atlas is going to revolutionize the way industry works, and it marks the first step toward a long-term goal we have dreamed about since we were children“, explains Robert Playter, CEO of Boston Dynamics. „Useful robots that can walk into our homes and help make our lives safer, more productive, and more fulfilling.”
