Hotspot for uncrewed systems
For a long time, the seemingly inexhaustible oil reserves were the main source of wealth on the Arabian Peninsula. However, as this „black gold“ will eventually run out, the Gulf states are increasingly focusing on more diversified and sustainable economic models. The UxS industry has also become part of the diverse economic reform efforts, as will be evident at the 3rd Saudi Drone Exhibition, scheduled for November 9 to 11, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital.

As part of the government program „Vision 2030“, Saudi Arabia is making massive investments to modernize the kingdom and develop its economy, creating new sources of revenue. This includes the enormous NEOM construction project, the expansion of the tourism industry, and investments in green future technologies. The UxS industry has also been identified as a growth driver in Riyadh. Since 2023, the SADEX has been held in the Saudi capital. One of the goals of the organizers of the Saudi Drone Exhibition is to establish it as a regional hotspot for uncrewed systems while simultaneously providing impulses for the development of the drone economy worldwide.
Driven in large part by rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and control, navigation, and propulsion technologies, uncrewed systems are becoming indispensable tools across an increasing number of industries and economic sectors. After two successful SADEX events that put the exhibition on the international map, the Saudi Drone Expo will expand its theme for its third edition (November 9 to 11, 2026). While the focus was primarily on unmanned systems themselves in the past, this time the entire drone ecosystem will take center stage in the exhibition program. This aims to promote the commercial use of unmanned systems in Saudi Arabia and emphasizes a commitment to contribute to the development of global standards for their safe and effective use. Therefore, SADEX 2026 offers visitors from around the world the opportunity to gain initial insights into a dynamic growth market in a prospering economic region.
