Dronitaly: Italy's only international event for commercial UxS applications

Drones as operational resources

From March 11 to 13, 2026, Bologna will once again host Dronitaly. For exhibitors from abroad, this trade event is a great opportunity to showcase in the third-largest EU economy. A particular focus of the event program is on the use of unmanned systems by federal and municipal authorities. Even in Italy, agencies and public administrations can drive the adoption of drones as operational resources.

The 11th Dronitaly is organized by BolognaFiere Water&Energy (BFWE). This is a joint venture between the trade fair operator BolognaFiere and the company Mirumir, which specializes in energy and technology-themed events. Together, they aim to create opportunities with BFWE to share knowledge on green technologies and sustainability, and to promote the energy transition through networking. Since unmanned systems can help slow climate change and mitigate the effects of global warming in various ways, drones are naturally a focus for BolognaFiere Water&Energy.

At Dronitaly 2026, more than 40 companies will showcase current products and UxS-based application examples. Within the „Ricerca e Innovazione“ hub (Research and Innovation), there will also be a dedicated platform for students and start-ups to present innovative solutions for commercial and governmental drone use. The accompanying conference program will cover some of the most important application areas, including agriculture and forestry, defense, environmental monitoring, and rescue missions. It will primarily address issues of data management, the use of AI solutions, and the integration of drones into existing logistics infrastructures.
