

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) is the most significant event of its kind worldwide. However, this year, the MSC drew even more attention than usual, mainly due to the tense transatlantic relations. As a result, the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine became almost a sideshow. This was not the case for the German UxS industry, as several companies took the opportunity to announce partnerships with Ukrainian counterparts.
The „Build with Ukraine“ initiative, introduced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the summer of 2025, aims to create production capacities for Ukrainian manufacturers abroad through state-supported corporate partnerships. Under wartime conditions, it is challenging to produce on a large scale. Additionally, manufacturing facilities – especially those in the defense industry – are prime targets for Russian attacks.
An example of how the sought-after German-Ukrainian cooperation can look like is „Quantum Frontline Industries“ (QFI). The joint venture between Quantum Systems and Frontline Robotics produces proven Ukrainian drone technology in Germany and used the MSC 2026 to present the first Linza 3.0 multipurpose drone manufactured in Germany to President Zelenskyy in the presence of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. As QFI also announced, mass production of 10,000 drones for the Ukrainian armed forces is to be made possible in Germany within a year.
